WWE's The Miz has a word for Brewers' Misiorowski on Pat McAfee's show

The Miz finally met The Miz.

And it was a must-see moment.

Two days before he set another pitching milestone in a season of many, Milwaukee Brewers All-Star pitcher Jacob Misiorowski, known in the Brew City and across baseball as “The Miz,” appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” for a guest spot on Aug. 7.

But soon, another Miz would join the party. And this Miz, the one known for his work inside a wrestling ring, in movies and on reality TV, wanted everyone to know one thing.

The Miz nickname belongs to him.

WWE’s Mike Mizanin, better known by “The Miz,” for 20 years, told Misiorowski and McAfee’s crew that “I am The Miz, I’m the only Miz, I’m the real Miz.”

Upon the wrestler, who first rose to fame on MTV’s “The Real World” in 2001, calling into the interview, McAfee jokingly referred to him as “The Mike.”

The wrestler wasn’t having any of that.

The Miz, who is one of the best in the business on the microphone, then delivered a promo as if he was appearing on “Monday Night Raw” as the Brewers’ ace had a good laugh.

“It is The Miz, the most must-see WWE superstar of all-time. First-ever two-time Grand Slam champion in the history of WWE. Twenty-two titles in my name. That is The Miz.”

Mizanin went on to say that he has Google alerts set up for his name, something he started two decades ago when he got his start in WWE. He’s still getting them but these days they’re not about his championships or the game shows he hosts.

“Now I get, ‘The Miz is throwing 106 mph’ and I wasn’t throwing 106 mph,” he proclaimed. “Every time I hear The Miz, I’m like, ‘it’s not about me.’ I like things about me.”

Jacob Misiorowski in 2026

WWE’s The Miz better get used to seeing more alerts that are about the Brewers’ Miz.

Misiorowski, who sports the lowest ERA in baseball, is the frontrunner to win the National League Cy Young Award and has been setting record after record for his pitch speeds during his second year in the big leagues.

The 24-year-old has broken his own record multiple times for fastest pitch ever for a starting pitcher. He holds the record at 105.5 mph, a pitch he threw June 26 against the Chicago Cubs.

Two starts prior, Misiorowski pitched one of the greatest games in franchise and MLB history when he had a complete-game, 15-strikeout, one-hit shutout of the Philadelphia Phillies in a Brewers 6-0 win. The 15 strikeouts are the most in MLB history in a complete-game shutout of 100 pitches or fewer.

More recently, on July 26, Misiorowski set a franchise record with striking out the first seven batters he faced in an 11-2 win over the Colorado Rockies at home.

And on Sunday, Aug. 9, he racked up nine more strikeouts to become the first pitcher to reach 200 this season. He reached that total in the second-fewest innings in MLB history, accomplishing the feat in 129⅓ innings.

The Miz vs the Miz

Could WWE’s The Miz handle the Brewers’ Miz?

Mizanin is a passionate Cleveland Guardians fan and has been a regular in the celebrity softball game during the MLB All-Star festivities over the years.

Maybe MLB could set up a matchup next year if schedules align to have the two Miz’s meet up on the diamond.

Or maybe we can settle this one like Mike “The Miz” Mizanin knows how. Inside the squared circle.

“It sounds like I need to get on WWE and we need to have a fight about it,” Misiorowski joked. “I don’t know how the Brewers are going to handle that one.”

One thing is certain.

WWE’s The Miz will always have the last word. In a response to “The Pat McAfee Show” posting the video clip of the interview on X, The Miz replied “I am The Miz! The Mike will NOT become a thing!!!!!”
