Pound man arrested, Oconto County Sheriff's Office says he shot a man in the leg June 18

A 39-year-old man is in police custody after allegedly shooting a 48-year-old man in Oconto County, the county’s sheriff’s office says.

Dispatchers were notified at around 12:50 a.m. June 18 regarding an incident involving a firearm at the 11000 block of Tom Post Road in Brazeau. A preliminary investigation indicates an argument between several people took place at the residence.

The sheriff’s office says the 39-year-old man shot the 48-year-old man in the leg. The suspect was arrested and taken to the Oconto County Jail, while the victim was taken to a local Green Bay hospital for treatment.

Both men were from Pound, according to the sheriff’s office. The incident is believed to be isolated, with no threat to the public. The shooting remains under investigation.
