Packers RB Josh Jacobs (knee) will play vs. Lions on Thanksgiving Day

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs has no status designation on the final injury report of Week 13 and will play against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day after missing last week’s win over the Minnesota Vikings with a knee contusion injury.

The Packers did not hold an official practice this week, but Jacobs was listed as a limited participant each day.

Jacobs, who suffered the knee injury on the hard artificial surface at MetLife Stadium in Week 11, pushed to play against the Vikings but was ultimately rested, allowing the knee four more days to reduce swelling and heal. In his place, backup Emanuel Wilson carried 28 times for a career-high 107 yards, becoming the first Packers player to go over 100 rushing yards this season, and he also scored a pair of 1-yard touchdowns.

Last week was the first time Jacobs missed a game since signing with the Packers before the 2024 season. He was confident that, in the event he missed Sunday against the Vikings, he would be able to return against the Lions on Thanksgiving Day.

Jacobs has turned 197 touches into 885 total yards and 11 touchdowns over 10 games in 2025. He leads the team in all three catgeories.

While Jacobs will return, it’s unclear if the Packers will be getting any other reinforcements for Thursday. Receiver Matthew Golden, cornerback Nate Hobbs and linebacker Quay Walker are all questionable to play after missing last week’s win, and cornerback Keisean Nixon is questionable after suffering a stinger in the first half on Sunday. Receiver Jayden Reed wasn’t activated from injured reserve and is out, and so are defensive end Lukas Van Ness, defensive tackle Karl Brooks and receiver/returner Savion Williams.
