Man dead, woman critical after suspected domestic abuse shooting

MARSHFIELD − A 34-year-old Owen man is dead and a 32-year-old Marshfield woman is in critical condition after a suspected domestic abuse incident early July 6.

At 6:30 a.m. July 6, a caller reported a vehicle went off the road in the 20000 block of South Roddis Avenue, according to the Marshfield Police Department. When emergency personnel arrived, they rescued the 32-year-old woman from the driver’s seat of the vehicle. She was transported to Marshfield Medical Center where she was listed in critical condition.

The 34-year-old man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead, according to the Marshfield Police Department.

Both individuals appeared to have single gunshot wounds, according to the police department. Police believe it is a result of domestic violence and an isolated incident.
