Several fights broke out Sunday night, Aug. 16, at the Wisconsin State Fair, leading to unrest throughout the fairgrounds and prompting a large police response, social media videos showed.
Information on what led to the chaos, which appear to involve dozens of people, was not immediately available. Neither the Wisconsin State Fair Park police nor the West Allis Police Department immediately responded to requests for comment on the incident.
Widespread social media videos of the scrum show crowds of people, including what appear to be uniformed officers, running, shouting and physically fighting in various locations at the fairgrounds, 640 S. 84th Street.
State fair officials had not issued a statement on the incident as of 10 a.m. Monday.
Sunday marked the final day of the 2026 fair.
