The Milwaukee Brewers return home and open a big three-game series against the Chicago Cubs at American Family Field on Friday night, June 26.
Right-hander Jacob Misiorowski (8-3, 1.45) starts for the Brewers, who begin a stretch of 18 games in 17 days, opposite right-hander Colin Rea (5-5, 4.99).
Milwaukee swept Chicago in the teams’ first three-game set this season at Wrigey Field from May 18-20, with the Brewers outscoring the Cubs, 19-5, and recording a shutout in the finale.
The Brewers have won 10 straight games against NL Central teams and are 11-3 overall versus division foes.
The game will only be able to be seen on Apple TV.
One storyline to watch: Manager Pat Murphy will be managing from a different location than the dugout after undergoing back surgery on Thursday in Appleton.
The Brewers have also reinstated left-hander Jared Koenig from the injured list with right-hander Craig Yoho being optioned to Class AAA Nashville.
The Miz nearly breaks the radar gun
It took only three pitches for Misiorowski to wow the crowd and the TV audience, as he uncorked an insane 105.5-mph fastball to leadoff batter Pete Crow-Armstrong – which, to his absolute credit, he somehow managed to foul off.
Misiorowski ended up striking out Crow-Armstrong on six pitches and then Alex Bregman on eight pitches before getting Michael Busch to ground out on his second pitch.
All told, over 16 pitches, Misiorowski topped 103 mph nine times.
Brewers record
49-29, first place in NL Central.
