Train derails, closes SE 10th Avenue in Amarillo

Amarillo officials announced Thursday, Sept. 4 that Southeast 10th Avenue is temporarily closed between Grant and Arthur streets after a train left the tracks.

A worker on site said that the road would be closed overnight into Friday, Sept. 5.

Traffic is being detoured to Southeast Third Avenue.

The public will be notified once the situation is resolved and the road reopens.
