Texas families can purchase school supplies, backpacks, shoes and clothing tax-free this weekend.
The annual Texas tax-free weekend is scheduled Aug. 7-9.
Qualifying items can be purchased from a Texas store or from an online or catalog seller that does business in Texas.
Here’s which items qualify for tax-free sales:
Items that are sold for $100 or more, including shipping and handling, do not qualify.
Other items that don’t qualify include clothing subscription boxes, specially designed athletic activity or protective-use clothing or footwear, rentals, alterations, cleaning services, jewelry, handbags or purses, briefcases, luggage, umbrellas, wallets, watches, computers, software and textbooks.
