Friday night is what Texas A&M basketball should look like under first-year head coach Bucky McMillan. They scored over 100 points and forced 16 turnovers on the way to a 109-68 victory.
However, the star of the night was sophomore guard Ruben Dominguez, who had a record-setting performance. It has been a long time since Aggie fans have witnessed a shooting display as impressive as Dominguez’s.

When it comes to shooting from beyond the arc, the Spaniard logged the best single-game mark in program history with 10 made three-pointers. If you have ever played NBA Jam, then you know what comes next: “He’s on fire!” Dominguez was highly efficient, going 10 of 14, with all 30 of his points coming from long range.
There had been plenty of rumblings about how good a shooter he was coming into the season, and once he stepped onto the practice court, the speculation proved true. During a shooting session, fellow guard Marcus Hill said they watched him knock down 80 of 85 three-pointers.
He was brought in to give the Aggies an elite perimeter shooter, and if this performance is any indication of what he can do, it is an excellent sign for the future.
