Texas A&M wide receiver will transfer to Sacramento State

Texas A&M’s 2025 wide receiver room is completely revamped after the transfer portal additions of KC Concepcion, Mario Craver, and Jonah Wilson, who, combined with Terry Bussey, Izaiah Williams, and Ashton Bethel-Roman, have the potential to greatly improve the 2025 passing offense behind the arm of starting quarterback Marcel Reed.

With these new additions, it was almost guaranteed that at least one, or two wide receivers would enter the portal, leading to the news that track & field star and freshman WR Ernest Campbell decided to play elsewhere in 2025. A member of the 2024 recruiting class, Campbell’s size, mainly his 145-pound frame was an issue, but his elite speed intrigued the Aggies coaching staff, who saw him as a potential return threat on special teams.

However, Campbell’s success on the track outweighed his time with the football program, as his decision to enter the transfer portal had more to do with getting on the field. Like many former top recruits, including quarterback Jaden Rashada, Campbell is set to transfer west to Sacramento State, one of the up-and-coming programs, especially for talented players who want to get on the field.

Nicknamed “Flash,” Campbell’s future is still bright if he adds more muscle mass to his frame to prevent injury, and could end up being a productive deep threat in the passing game combined with his obvious special teams advantage as a kick/punt returner.
