After setting various attendance records during the 2025-2026 college football season, Texas A&M just announced a massive event scheduled for Kyle Field over the summer.
On the road to the World Cup, Bryan-College Station will be the site of a matchup between reigning world champion Argentina and Honduras. The announcement was speculated on Wednesday, but was made official by the university on Thursday afternoon. The contest is part of the Road to 26, presented by Turkish Airlines, and will mark the second international soccer match at Kyle Field in its storied history.
Argentina features arguably the most electric and well-known soccer star in the world, as Lionel Messi is promoted to make an appearance at Texas A&M’s 99-year-old football stadium on June 6. The match between the two countries is set to begin at 7 p.m. CT.
Texas A&M joins Auburn (Jordan-Hare Stadium) and Utah (Rice-Eccles Stadium) as three college football programs to announce hosting international soccer matches over the summer, before the World Cup begins on June 11. Athletic director Trev Alberts released a statement on the excitement around hosting such a prestigious event in one of football’s most exhilarating cathedrals.
“”We look forward to seeing international soccer return to Kyle Field, especially ahead of the World Cup this summer,” Alberts said. “This is a very exciting time for soccer across the world as well as in the state of Texas. It will be a great opportunity to welcome fans from all over to our campus and one of the most elite venues in college sports. We are always looking to advance the brand of Texas A&M to grow its established global reach and impact. We know hosting these kinds of events emphasizes that strategy and allows us to continue expanding our footprint.”
Following the massive announcement on Thursday, Texas A&M has already dropped ticket information for the June 6 matchup between Argentina and Honduras. Tickets go on sale Wednesday, April 15, at 9 a.m. CT. Fans can also register for exclusive pre-sale access at RoadTo26.com.
