Summer is winding down, but there is still one last weekend for Viva! El Paso. The last performance is Saturday.
Rock legend Gene Simmons is coming to Speaking Rock Casino for a free concert this weekend.
And Shinedown will perform Sunday, Aug. 2 at the Don Haskins Center.

Cool Canyon Nights
The popular Cool Canyon Nights Music Series, presented by WestStar, will have its last concert on Thursday, July 30 at McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre. Doors open at 5 p.m. Fungi Mungle will end the season. Free.
Viva! El Paso
VIVA! El Paso will conclude its 49th season at McKelligon Canyon Amphitheatre this weekend. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Tickets start at $32.80 plus fees and are available at ticketmaster.com.
Gene Simmons
Rock legend Gene Simmons will bring his band and perform many of the classic hits on Saturday, Aug.1 at 122 S Old Pueblo Road. Special guest Slaughter will be performing the same day. The event is a free concert for 21 and older only. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
Shinedown
Shinedown will perform Sunday, Aug. 2 at the Don Haskins Center. The Dance, Kid, Dance, Act II tour date will also feature special guests Coheed and Cambria, From Ashes to New and DJ Rock Feed.
Tickets ranging from $35 to $240 plus fees are available at Ticketmaster.com.
Free Movies at the Park
The city of El Paso Parks and Recreation Department is bringing back Movies at the Park, a free outdoor film series inviting residents to enjoy family-friendly movies at parks across the city.
The series is presented in partnership with Raising Cane’s, ZTEX, and the El Paso Community Foundation. All movies begin at 8 p.m. Coming up on Aug. 7 is “The Lego Movie” at Vista Del Valle Park, 1288 Hawkins Blvd.
Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks to enjoy family-friendly films under the night sky.
