Katz 21 Steak & Spirits

Located on the Southside of Corpus Christi, Katz 21 serves a fine-dining experience as well as a spacious outdoor patio bar. Specializing in dry-aged, corn-fed Midwestern Prime, Katz 21’s beef is packed and shipped from Chicago. Reservations are necessary, so be sure to call 361-884-1221 before arriving. Open from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Ol’ Steakhouse Co.
4307 Avalon St.
Since 1994, this veteran, Texas-style restaurant has been serving up hand-cut, mesquite grilled steaks along with a full-service bar and daily drink specials. Its steaks are cooked over an open flame for the ultimate flavor. Open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Prime Steakhouse & Whiskey Bar
6326 Yorktown Blvd.
Prime Steakhouse is the newest steakhouse in Corpus Christi, as it opened its doors in October 2022. The local business carries an array of specialty meats including prime steaks, fresh seafood and wild game. Open from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 4 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Republic of Texas Bar & Grill
900 N. Shoreline Blvd (inside Omni Hotel)
This restaurant is located on the 20th floor of the Omni Hotel and offers multi-level, panoramic views of the Corpus Christi Bay. Its fine dining experience includes an award-winning wine list and prime beef. Reservations are necessary, so be sure to call 361-886-3515 before arriving. Open from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 5:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Texas A1 Steaks & Seafood
14241 Northwest Blvd., 407 Cedar Drive (in Portland)
With locations in the Calallen area and Portland, Texas A1 serves mesquite fired steaks with fluffy rolls and an extensive drink menu. The former steakhouse opened in 2005 and the Portland spot opened six years later. Open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
Texas Flame Steakhouse
4535 S. Padre Island Drive
This family-owned restaurant opened in 1942 and serves mesquite broiled steaks and seafood. Upgrade your steaks with bourbon sauce, au jus, onions, mushrooms and more. Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
U&I Steak and Seafood
309 S. Water St.
For more than 50, U&I has served delicious homemade food in downtown Corpus Christi. While dining in the steakhouse, guests will experience the ambience of steaks being prepared on an open-flamed grill. Open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
