Lubbock’s three major independent school districts received their report cards from the state — with one dropping down to a C rating.
The Texas Education Agency, on Aug. 14, released its 2026 A-F Accountability Ratings, handing out As, Bs, Cs, Ds and Fs that tell parents, educators and lawmakers which schools are excelling and which have work to do.
Lubbock-Cooper continues to lead area school districts with a high B rating, while Lubbock ISD saw improvement but retained its lower B rating.
Frenship ISD, on the other hand, fell from a B rating to a C rating, and its high schools also received a C rating.
