Another candidate has tossed his hat into the ring for District 5 on the Wichita Falls City Council.
Wes Stancliff, 63, has designated a treasurer for his campaign.
Wescliff faces incumbent Tom Taylor in the Nov. 3 election. District 5 includes a large portion of northern Wichita Falls.
Stancliff, a retiree, said he decided to run after viewers of his online videos commenting on Wichita Falls urged him to do so.
“The more I made videos highlighting things that need to be addressed, I decided, ‘OK, why not?'” he said.
He said people need to treat Wichita Falls as their home and shouldn’t want to bring people to a home “that’s a total wreck.”
Wescliff said he is “green” when it comes to politics, but he is genuine as a person and doesn’t “put on airs.”
