2026 5-star CB will early enroll at Texas A&M in January

Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class is led by five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington, who looks like the next star defensive back to play under head coach Mike Elko, and while nearly every blue-blood program was looking to flip him over the next month, the California native shut down his recruitment, and will sign with the Aggies on December 4 during ESD (Early Signing Day).

After landing Arrington’s commitment on June 19, the surge in recruiting included four-star edge Bryce Perry-Wright and four-star running back KJ Edwards, two elite prospects who also shut down their recruitments. Texas A&M’s future secondary will, like most teams, rely on the transfer portal to avoid a significant drop-off.

Still, Arrington, who stands at 6’2″ and 180 pounds, while possessing track speed and the versatility to also play wide receiver, makes him a candidate to see the field as soon as he makes his way to College Station. On Tuesday, it was revealed that Arrington’s plans have changed, as the No. 1-ranked athlete in the 2026 cycle will reportedly enroll early at Texas A&M and forego his senior track season at Mount Miguel HS.

Arrington has fully embraced what Mike Elko is building at Texas A&M, as the Aggies are currently 8-0 and 5-0 in SEC play, which has sent a message to every current commit that the program is on the rise, and not slowing down.
