Two restaurants that opened last year have had to close recently for different reasons.
The owners of A Toda Mar, which opened at 12890 Eastlake Blvd. in late 2025, confirmed they had to close the seafood restaurant and sold the building.
Rudy Valdes, executive chef within the Pan y Agua Restaurant Group, confirmed that the restaurant had to close. The property was listed for sale in early May.
He said he was grateful for the guests who supported the restaurant. The restaurant had a great niche: flavorful seafood with family recipes from Mexico.
At the time of opening, Valdes acknowledged that the restaurant industry is a difficult one but that he and his restaurant group are dreamers, always thinking of the next restaurant idea.
Valdes owns Crave Kitchen and Bar, with four locations and going on 17 years. The group also has Buen Dia, which opened in January 2023 at 2260 N. Zaragoza Road, focused on chilaquiles and breakfast items and is now adding lunch options.
The third restaurant for the group, Neighbor Good Kitchen & Bar, opened this year at 801 N. Piedras St. in Central El Paso, focusing on border favorites.
Tacos Guadalajara closes in Socorro
A Mexican restaurant, Tacos Guadalajara, at 10180 Socorro Road, announced on Instagram it was closing on July 26 because it had to vacate the building.
“We want to sincerely thank everyone who has been part of our journey, especially these last few days. Every visit, every kind word and every bit of support has meant so much to us. Thank you for being part of our story,” stated the restaurant post.
The restaurant had promoted its authentic Mexican food, including enchiladas, tacos and carne asada, through social media and was gaining a following.
