Candidates
Jacob Ridener, who graduated in 2025, was first-team all-state as a senior, junior and sophomore defensive lineman. He had 49 career sacks, including 17 as a senior. He also played basketball. XXX
Ashley LaFountain, who graduated in 2013, was Sandusky Bay Conference player of the year four times for tennis. She won four league and sectional crowns at first sings. She advanced to state four times. She was 137-13 for her career.
JD Bergman, who graduated in 2003, was the state champion for wrestling as a senior and junior. He was first-team all-state as a senior running back. He continued his wrestling career at Ohio State. Was a member of the USA National Team seven times.
Andrea Cecil, who graduated in 2016, established a career program record with 1,823 points for basketball. She was all-state three times, including first-team as a senior. She was player of the year in the Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division as a senior. She qualified to state on a 4×400 relay for track and ran cross country. She continued her basketball career at Bowling Green State and Florida Gulf Coast.
Erica Lipstraw, who graduated in 2008, established a program record for career goals for soccer. She was fourth in the 300 hurdles at state as a junior and fifth as a senior. She also played basketball. She continued her track career for one season and then played soccer for three years at Toledo.
Jac Alexander, who graduated in 2020, was first-team in the Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division three times, including player of the year as a senior for basketball. He finished with 1,475 career points. He was first-team all-league at quarterback twice and defensive back once. He was first-team all-state as a senior quarterback. He also played baseball. He continued his basketball career at Marietta College.
Cody Magrum, who graduated in 2008, was state champ for wrestling as a senior, junior and sophomore. He finished seventh as a freshman. He continued his wrestling career at Ohio State.
Ashley Riley, who graduated in 2018, was twice first-team all-state for softball. She was second-team as a sophomore. She twice was player of the year in the Sandusky Bay Conference. She struck out 842 batters in 583 innings. She also played volleyball and basketball. She continued her softball career at Lourdes.
Aaron McCune, who graduated in 2007, was first-team all-state at defensive back as a senior. He averaged 9.9 yards per carry at running back.
Clay Schulte, who graduated in 2020, established program records with more than 400 tackles, 91 receptions and 49 rushing touchdowns. He was first-team in the Sandusky Bay Conference Bay Division at running back and linebacker as a senior and junior to earn player of the year honor. He twice was all-state at linebacker, including first-team as a senior. He was first-team all-conference at catcher for baseball and he played basketball. He continued his football career at the University of Indianapolis.
