The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center high school Athlete of the Week voting occurs each week during high school sports competition and recognizes athletes across all sports.

Athletes are on this week’s ballot based on information made available to The Dispatch and nominations.
Once athletes win during the regular season, they’re not eligible to be back on the ballot until the postseason. If athletes haven’t won in the regular season, they can be nominated more than once.
The Dispatch staff reserves the right to remove ballots or athletes from the ballot where voting irregularities have occurred.

Here are this week’s Boys Athlete of the Week candidates:
Mason Ackermann, New Albany football: Helped seal a 17-14 win at London by forcing a fumble in the final minute. He also scored on a 1-yard touchdown run.
Memphis Book, West Jefferson football: Ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries, made three catches for 43 yards and collected six tackles – three solo – in a 29-12 win over Amanda-Clearcreek.
Nolan Buirley, Big Walnut football: Ran for 187 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries, made two catches for 40 yards and threw a two-point conversion pass in a 32-7 win over Hilliard Bradley.
Leon Cummings, Gahanna Lincoln football: Ran for 178 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries in a 35-3 win over Pickerington Central.
Michael Daniels, Westland football: Passed for three touchdowns and 220 yards and ran for a TD in a 33-28 win over Teays Valley.
Braylon Griffith, Hilliard Darby football: Ran for 127 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries in a 20-15 win at Lancaster.
Carson Kiger, Berne Union football: Completed 14 of 18 passes for 262 yards and four touchdowns and ran for a fifth score in a 40-6 win at Bidwell River Valley.
Max Moore, Westerville North soccer: Scored both of the Warriors’ goals in a 2-1 win at Reynoldsburg. The winner came with 3 minutes to play.
Jayden Preece, Pickerington North football: Ran for 119 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries in a 31-14 win at Troy.
Coby Smith, Grove City football: Threw for 236 yards and three touchdowns, including one with 20 seconds left in the fourth quarter to help beat Canal Winchester 28-27. He also rushed for 54 yards on five carries in what was his first start.
Ethan Stewart, Westerville North football: Threw three touchdown passes in the game’s final 14 minutes in a 31-9 win over Marysville.
Jackson Szabo, Worthington Kilbourne football: Accounted for 329 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns – four passing and two rushing – in a 49-7 win over Watkins Memorial. Szabo completed 11 of 14 passes for 213 yards and ran seven times for 116 yards.
Sam Tencza, Fisher Catholic football: Rushed for 127 yards and a touchdown, caught a touchdown pass and made 10 tackles – including three for loss and two sacks – in a 28-19 win at Belpre.
Carter Waggoner, Centerburg football: Was 11 of 13 passing for 320 yards and three touchdowns and ran five times for 38 yards in a 35-14 win at Utica.
