Trump visits Greater Cincinnati Wednesday. How popular is he in Ohio?

President Donald Trump visits Ohio this week, where voters who elected him in 2024 are now divided over his job performance.

Trump handily won the Buckeye State with 55% of the vote in the 2024 presidential election, but new polling suggests Ohioans are divided on how his second term is going.

Trump will visit a company in Reading, Ohio, a Cincinnati suburb, on March 11 to tout his administration’s new program that aims to lower prescription drug costs. The visit comes amidst concerns about the U.S. economy and war in Iran.

How do Ohioans feel about Trump? Here’s what the latest polling data shows.

How popular is Trump in Ohio?

Polling done before the Iran war by Morning Consult, a global company that provides survey research, showed a steady approval rating of Trump in Ohio. In Ohio, 49% of respondents approved of the president in February and 49% did not. Those findings were published on Feb. 9, before the Iran war.

The polling data comes from Morning Consult’s daily tracking survey among registered voters, published every three months. By contrast, Trump had the same approval rating in Ohio in December 2025, according to Morning Consult. In September, he had a slightly higher approval rating of 50%.

Bowling Green State University, which polled 1,200 registered Ohio voters between Feb. 13 and 18, found a lower approval rate. Trump had a job approval rating of 41% in this poll, and 13% of Trump voters said they now regret their decision.

What do recent Trump approval polls say?

Trump’s national approval rating was 43.8% on March 9, according to RealClearPolitics, an independent media company. His disapproval rating was 54.1%, up 10% from the start of his second term.
