Three teen boxers compete in Virginia and will take part in Crowtown Throwdown

COSHOCTON − Three Coshocton teen members of the Coshocton Boxing Club were recently invited to participate in a tournament in Waynesboro, Virginia.

It was a chance for them to show off their skills, before they compete in the Crowtown Throwdown II.

The three boxers who took part in the Virginia tournament were Zander Spring, Mobius Williams and Montara Johnson. Spring lost due to a split decision and has an overall record of 1-1. Williams lost due to injury and has an overall record of 9-1. Johnson won by unanimous decision and has an overall record of 7-0.

The tournament was held at the Gottardi Boxing Club, owned by Dallas Brewer. He previously lived in Coshocton and operated the local boxing club. His gym is named for Bill Gottardi, the man who founded the Coshocton Boxing Club. Tylar Keith owns the club today, after taking it over from Brewer in 2016.

Spring, Williams and Johnson are scheduled to compete in the Crowtown Throwdown II Nov. 8 at Kids America, 1600 Otsego Ave. Doors open at 3 p.m. with a bell time of 4 p.m. General admission is $20 with VIP tables available for $240.
