COLUMBUS — The 56 high school football teams still alive in the Ohio High School Athletic Association football playoffs now know their potential journey to a state title.
The OHSAA announced the bracket pairings in all seven divisions for next week’s state semifinals.
In Division II, the Hoban-Walsh Jesuit regional final winner will play the Avon-Highland winner in the state semifinals, just like a year ago when Avon won the Division II state championship. Avon defeated Cincinnati Anderson in the state finals inside a snow-covered Hall of Fame Stadium after beating Highland and then Hoban to get to Canton.

In the other half of the Division II bracket, the winner of the Massillon-Sunbury Big Walnut regional final advances to play the winner of the Anderson and Trotwood-Madison regional final.
In Division III, the winner of the regional final featuring CVCA and Cleveland VA-SJ plays the Rocky River-Toledo Central Catholic winner.
In Division VII, the Mogadore-McDonald winner plays the Hillsdale-Danville winner.
According to the OHSAA, the geography of the schools involved in each region is the primary factor in determining how the regional champions will be paired in the state semifinals. A team’s won-lost record, regional seed and state rank do not factor into the state semifinal bracket pairings.
Complete pairings for this Friday’s regional finals and next week’s state semifinals are included below. Locations for the state semifinals will be announced on Sunday, Nov. 23.
