The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is investigating a shooting involving police that occurred in Gahanna on June 5, according to BCI spokesperson Steve Irwin.
Gahanna police were called to the 300 block of Lincolnshire Road at 9:39 a.m. on the report of a person threatening suicide, city spokesman Dan Pearlman said.
One officer fired their service weapon, and one person was shot. That person was transported to an area hospital, and they were speaking to officers before being transported, Pearlman said.
Police have not identified the person who suffered the injury, nor have they released the name of the officer involved in the shooting.
The shooting did not leave any officers injured, Irwin said. The Gahanna Police Department requested BCI support after the shooting.
Pearlman said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
