Multiple people were injured in a shooting Saturday, March 28, according to police.
Lt. Michael Murphy of the Akron Police Department told News 5 Cleveland that officers were sent to West Wilbeth Road, near Firestone Stadium and across from Firestone’s corporate campus around 8:10 p.m.
A News 5 crew at the scene reported seeing about a dozen police vehicles. Officers were also observed moving a gurney covered with a white sheet.
Authorities have not confirmed the number of victims, and their conditions were not immediately available.
Police said a large SUV with front-end damage and shattered windows was towed from the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
