Make this Rosé Martini by 2026 Bars of the Year Sully's Speakeasy

After USA TODAY named Sully’s Speakeasy one of its 38 USA TODAY Bars of the Year for 2026, we knew we’d want to celebrate with a cocktail.

So we asked for a recipe.

This Rosé Martini, crafted by Sully’s Speakeasy bartender Tyler Lewis, is a throwback to the 1930’s style of the cocktail – elegant with complex flavors. Owner Keri Sullivan enjoys the light cocktail that is perfect for spring and summer enjoyment, adding it’s an old-school drink that can transport you back in time.

To ensure success, Lewis encourages home bartenders to use Tanqueray No. 10. The ultra-premium version of the gin replaces dried peel with fresh whole citrus that results in a brighter, smoother and more floral spirit that’s perfectly tailored for martinis. Using the light, fruity and delicately floral French aperitif wine Lillet Rosé enhances the bright notes of orange blossom and grapefruit in the cocktail.

Ingredients:

Instructions:

Grab the martini glass, inspect and polish. Place a large Yarai mixing glass on the bar top.

Note: Sully’s Speakeasy uses a Yarai mixing glass, favored by bartenders for its classic Japanese diamond-pattern weave etched into the thick, heavy-bottomed piece.

Pour the gin into mixing glass, then pour in the rosé.

Add two dashes of bitters and the bar spoon of Benedictine.

Add a scoop of ice into the mixing glass and use a bar spoon to stir up to a minute (or 33 stirs).

Note: Lewis abides by the “33 Stirs” rule to achieve highly consistent results, ensure the drink is at the perfect temperature, and integrate the ideal amount of melted ice to smooth out any harsh bite of the alcohol.

Using a Hawthorne strainer, pour mixture into the martini glass. Slice off a lemon twist and put into drink.
