Looking for fall fun in Coshocton County? These events may just be what you're looking for

COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Visitors Bureau wants individuals to know there is plenty to fall in love with in Coshocton County this autumn.

Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival

More than 100 vendors will offer handmade crafts, foods and fine art during the festival from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 17-18 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 19 in Historic Roscoe Village.

Watch apple butter being stirred in large cast-iron kettles while enjoying live music on the main stage. Free parking and living history tours are included with admission. The Roscoe Village shops and restaurants will also be open during the festival.

Fall Foliage and Farm Tour

This drive-it-yourself tour is a complete mystery to those planning to attend. The tour allows guests to see farms not usually open to the public and may include stops at livestock, horse and dairy farms, timber and furniture makers, vineyards and historic sites. Participants will learn the tour sites when they pick up maps on the day of the event. Maps are available at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds and Hopewell School, 23720 Airport Road,

Ohio State University Extension, Coshocton Soil and Water Conservation District and the USDA Farm Service Agency host this event scheduled for 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 18 and noon to 5 p.m. Oct. 19.

MMS Aviation’s anniversary celebration

For the past 50 years, MMS Aviation (Missionary Maintenance Service) has been training apprentice mechanics and pilots from around the world and maintaining missionary aircraft. By preparing skilled mechanics and keeping aircraft in top condition, the nonprofit organization helps missionary aviation programs ensure that missionaries can safely reach remote areas to deliver supplies, evangelize, and provide aid.

An open house in celebration of it’s 50th anniversary will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 18 and 1 to 5 p.m. Oct. 19, at MMS Aviation, 24387 Airport Road. Tours of the three hangars, food and entertainment will be available, as well as plane and helicopter rides for a fee.

Friends of the Parks’ walk and race

Beautiful fall colors set the scene for this annual race, which begins at 8 a.m. Oct. 25, at Lake Park, 23253 Ohio 83. The fees are $55 for the half marathon, $45 for the 10K, and $35 for the 5K. Prices will increase after Oct. 22.

All abilities are welcome, whether you walk for fun or run to compete. Longer races will take place throughout Coshocton’s downtown district and Roscoe Village, in addition to the Lake Park Complex. The 5K will remain within the park. Runners may register at dkraces.com.

McPeek’s Mighty Maze

Along with a corn maze, McPeek’s Mighty Maze also includes wagon rides, crafts, ball pit, sand diggers and other family-friendly activities. Flashlight Nights take place from dusk until 9 p.m. This non-spooky nighttime version of the corn maze adds some extra mystery to the adventure.
