Coshocton Schools’ Popsicles in the Park
COSHOCTON − Staff of Coshocton City Schools will be passing out popsicles to youth part of Popsicles in the Park, connected to back to school activities. Popsicles were donated by Coshocton Regional Medical Center. Popsicles will be passed out at 1:10 p.m. at Himebaugh, Hall and Bancroft parks and 1:40 p.m. at Meadows Apartment Complex, Coshocton Court Square and Chestnut Crossing.
Leadership Coshocton names 2027 class
COSHOCTON − The 2027 Class of Leadership Coshocton County recently held a welcome reception and announced members for the 36th class. Members are Lindsey Bluck of McWane Ductile, David Boyer of Trinity Hospital, Kayla Cowden and Caitlin Fox of Wiley Companies, Hailey Helter of Our Town Coshocton, Joby Henry and Josh Saylor of McWane Poles, Chrissy Heron of Coshocton Port Authority, Angela Higby of Coshocton County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Brett Kinzel of OSU Extension of Coshocton County, Amber Manbeck of Coshocton County Head Start, Tessa Morton of Coshocton County Career Center, Skylar Quincel of Genesis Healthcare Systems, Amanda Rossiter of the West Lafayette Police Department, Kelsey Saylor of Coshocton County Soil and Water Conservation District, Aaron Shearer of Coshocton County Veteran’s Service Office, Amy Shutt of the Montgomery Foundation and Jon Thomas of the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
Rebecca Norris recognized
COSHOCTON − Rebecca Norris of Coshocton was recognized by TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) for her weight loss in 2025. She lost 105 pounds.
Alloway reappointed to state board
COLUMBUS − William E. Alloway of Fresno has been reappointed by Gov. Mike DeWine’s office to the Reclamation Commission to a term from Aug. 7, 2026, to June 28, 2031.
Car show and dinner
PLAINFIELD − A chicken barbecue and car cruise-in will be Aug. 22 at Plainfield United Methodist Church, 101 Church St., Plainfield. Car show starts at 2 p.m. and the meal is at 4:30 p.m. Menu will feature half a chicken, potato salad, roll, browning and beverage. Cost is $14. All meals are carryout and available at the back of the church.
Treasure Trove vendors sought
NEWCOMERSTOWN − Vendors are being sought for the Treasure Trove event sponsored by the Newcomerstown Historical Society from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 22 at the Olde Main Street Museum, 213 W. Canal St., Newcomerestown. Vendor setup is from 8 to 9 a.m. For more information, call 740-498-7735. Registration deadline is Aug. 8.
Mom and baby pool time
COSHOCTON − Coshocton County Breastfeeding Network is having mom and baby pool time 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 20 at Coshocton KOA Campground, 24688 County Road 10. Free pool admission for the first 24 postpartum mothers with babies 12-months and younger. A breast feeding station will be setup by the pool. One winner will get a mom and baby pool basket.
Beef quality assurance training upcoming
COSHOCTON − The Ohio State University Extension Office of Coshocton County will hold a hands-on beef quality assurance clinic focuses on animal handling safety from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Porteus Farms feedlot, 18145 County Road 271. The presenter will be John Yost, agricultural and natural resources educator for OSU Extension in Wayne County. The class is free, but registration is required at go.osu.edu/coshbqa.
Pasture walk on the Martin Farm
COSHOCTON − Coshocton Soil and Water Conservation District will have a pasture walk at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 25 at the Martin Farm, 25513 Township Road 322. Larry and Todd Endsley will discuss their seven-paddock rotational grazing system, cropland conversion, flexibility of grazable hay fields and winter feeding insights. ● The Coshocton County Regional Planning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 17 in the meeting of the Coshocton County Engineer’s Office, 23194 County Road 621.
● Coshocton County Board of Developmental Disabilities will meet in regular session at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 19 in the conference room of Hopewell School, 23720 Airport Road.
