Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles said top returning receiver Emeka Egbuka is “day-to-day, week-to-week” with a toe sprain, putting his status for their Week 1 game against the Cincinnati Bengals in question.
When asked specifically whether the injury could affect Egbuka’s Week 1 availability, Bowles responded, “(I’m) not sure at this time.”
As a rookie, Egbuka led the Bucs with 63 catches for 938 receiving yards with six touchdowns during the 2025 season.
Egbuka, Chris Godwin Jr. and Jalen McMillan are listed on the Bucs’ depth chart as starting receivers.
Egbuka was the 19th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. The Bucs selected the former Ohio State Buckeye two picks after the Bengals took defensive end Shemar Stewart 17th.
The Bengals are scheduled to host the Bucs at Paycor Stadium on September 13.
