New Cleveland Browns head coach Todd Monken has landed in Berea and is in the team’s facility for the first time. The team released a video on social media of Monken in his office for the first time, and quarterback Sheduer Sanders walked in to meet his new head coach.
There was a report that in last year’s draft, the Baltimore Ravens were interested in drafting Shedeur Sanders to back up Lamar Jackson. When Monken talked to Sanders in the video the team released, Monken confirmed this report was true when one of the first things he said to his new quarterback was, ” Hey, we tried to draft your a## last year.”
The Browns aren’t in a position to draft a quarterback high in a weak class, so the potential that they build around the position and start Sanders seems like a real possibility. If Monken was one of the Ravens coaches, and judging by how happy he looked when talking to him, he was, who wanted to get Sanders, he could already have a plan to help with Sanders’ development and set him up for success.
