Browns HC provides update on several injuries from Bears' loss

Coming out of the first preseason game of 2026, the Browns have some injuries to monitor. None are to key starters, but several players who made plays against the Bears on Saturday are banged up. On Sunday, head coach Todd Monken provided updates on those players.

ESPN’s Daniel Oyefusi shared Monken’s comments on social media.

In the case of Coats Jr., he had one of the better games of anyone on Saturday. He intercepted a pass, made two tackles, broke up two passes, and only allowed two receptions on five targets. The Bears’ passing offense had their way with the Browns, except when they targeted Coats.

Getting him back would be a benefit to the secondary as they look for more depth at the position.
