Eastridge Family Restaurant, at 1925 East Ridge Road in Irondequoit, will close after 46 years as owner Aleka Gogos is planning to retire.

“When my parents, Athanasios (Tommy) and Zaharia (Susie), started this business, they built it on hard work, great food, and a deep love for the Irondequoit community,” she wrote in a Facebook post. “I joined them behind the line when I was just 20 years old, and serving you all over the past four decades alongside my family has been the honor of my life.”

The Facebook post also thanked the restaurant’s staff, customers and Irondequoit community. “Watching generations of families walk through our doors has been the greatest gift,” it said.

The restaurant will close for summer vacation from Aug. 19 through 24. When it reopens on Aug. 25, its new hours will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily. Customers who have outstanding gift cards are encouraged to use them as soon as possible.
