Spectrum is conducting service upgrades across the Southern Tier, which may cause temporary disruptions to customers.
The work began several weeks ago to create “multi-gig, symmetrical speeds and stronger overall reliability” to customers across the region. During the week of April 27, the final checks will be completed and equipment will be swapped at various service hubs known as “nodes.”
The upgrades to the network infrastructure are designed to increase download/upload speeds, improve performance and strengthen service reliability.
Maintenance has been scheduled during the lowest impact time in the overnight hours from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. Notices were to be sent out to customers who may experience disruptions, according to Spectrum. Any interruption in service should be “brief and localized,” according to Vice President of Communications Lara Pritchard at Charter Communications.
What to do if you are experiencing delays in service
Spectrum advises customers to restart their modem or router once service is restored. If the issue persists, use the My Spectrum app or customer support channels to contact an agent.
In an April 27 statement, Pritchard said the upgrades will impact customers in their daily activities, “whether that’s connecting with a doctor through telehealth, students participating in online learning, or families staying connected while caring for aging parents at home.”
