The Rome Police Department is investigating a report of animal cruelty and is asking the public for assistance.
In a statement released June 25, the Rome Police Department said that on June 23, at around 10:36 a.m., a call came in for a report of animal cruelty at 115 Stanwix St. in Rome.
Upon arrival, officers found a dead dog in the driveway of the residence. An investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident is ongoing.
“The Rome Police Department takes all reports of animal cruelty seriously and is actively working to determine the cause and any responsible parties,” the statement reads.
