The Brooklyn Nets are now in the slow part of their offseason now that they’re done with the 2026 NBA Draft, summer league play, and free-agency. Brooklyn has made some solid additions to the roster, headlined by them trading for Minnesota Timberwolves forward Julius Randle, and soon, the Nets should learn what their schedule will be for next season.
NBA insider Marc Stein reported Wednesday on X that the NBA’s 2026-27 schedule is “on course” to be released in full next week, meaning that Brooklyn will know all of its opponents soon enough. The Nets already know their entire preseason schedule and when they will be playing certain teams due to the NBA Cup, but the rest of the schedule should be announced soon.
Assuming that the NBA indeed releases the full schedule for every team next week, that would fall in line with when the league has generally announced the full slate, usually in the middle of August. There was a time where many were wondering if the full NBA schedule would be released on time with LeBron James taking his time to pick his next team before landing with the Philadelphia 76ers.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver admitted that he was waiting for James to make his choice before finishing up the schedule, but now that the future Hall-of-Famer is in Philadelphia, everything can progress as planned. For the Nets, they will be hoping that they will have a better performance in 2026-27 than in 2025-26 when they finished the campaign with a lowly 20-62 record.
Next season will give Brooklyn the chance to see how Randle fits into a team led by sharpshooter Michael Porter Jr. along with seeing how Egor Demin and Mikel Brown Jr. gel together as one of the youngest backcourts in the league. The Eastern Conference is looking more formidable next season compared to past years, but Brooklyn will be anticipating the release of their full schedule next week so that they can prepare accordingly.
