New York Giants head coach John Harbaugh had high praise for running back Devin Singletary following Saturday’s 26-3 preseason victory over the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium.
Asked about Singletary’s contributions, Harbaugh lauded the veteran.
“Oh yeah, he did great. I mean he played like he always plays. He is one of the most consistent players you’re ever going to see,” he told reporters.
Singletary delivered an efficient performance in limited action, carrying the ball eight times for 40 yards and a touchdown while adding one reception for four yards. His 13-yard scoring run in the second quarter extended the Giants’ lead to 17-0. He played just 17 offensive snaps, accounting for 21 percent of the team’s total.
The veteran’s steady production came as the Giants controlled the line of scrimmage and built a comfortable cushion behind a balanced attack. Singletary’s ability to maximize his opportunities aligned with the consistency Harbaugh has come to expect from the back nicknamed “Motor.”
In a crowded running back room that includes Tyrone Tracy Jr., Cam Skattebo, and Najee Harris, Singletary continues to provide reliable depth and a change-of-pace option. His performance against Miami offered another reminder of the dependable presence he brings whenever called upon.
However, the question remains: Will it be enough?
