A Bronx senior at Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains is in critical condition after a motorcycle crash Wednesday morning in Yonkers, according to police and school officials.
Crash on Bronx River Parkway
Westchester County police said Alexis Pabellon, 18, was riding a motorcycle on the Bronx River Parkway around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, when he attempted to exit onto the Cross County Parkway and lost control of the vehicle. The motorcycle crashed, and no other vehicles were involved.
Victim hospitalized in critical condition
When officers arrived at the scene, Pabellon was severely injured. He was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition, police said.
School community responds
Archbishop Stepinac High School Principal Paul Carty notified students and families about the crash.
“Alexis Pabellon, of senior year, is in critical condition in hospital as a result of a serious accident earlier today,” Carty said. “I informed your sons and ask that you keep Alexis and his family in your prayers. I also told the seniors that we are here for any student who needs someone to talk to.”
