The Binghamton area has welcomed several new restaurants since the beginning of 2026, and there are even more to come.
From popular chain restaurants to a waterfront wine bar, there are various new eateries expected to open in 2026 and 2027, adding to the already expansive restaurant scene.
Here’s what’s to come and when the doors will open at these new eateries.
Chick-fil-A
Chick-fil-A is set to open two locations in Broome County by 2027.
The first Binghamton-area Chick-fil-A restaurant will open within the Oakdale Commons in Johnson City, taking over the former KeyBank site. Construction is currently underway and the store is anticipated to open in “fall 2026, pending construction delays,” according to a June statement from Chick-fil-A Inc.
The second Chick-fil-A location will open within the Town Square Mall in Vestal, taking over the former Storming Crab site. As of July 22, the Storming Crab building had been completely demolished in preparation for the restaurant. Though there is no anticipated opening date, Chick-fil-A said in a March announcement that both Broome County restaurants are expected to open between 2026 and 2027.
Wingstop
Wingstop is anticipated to open in Vestal, joining Crumbl and Tropical Smoothie Cafe at the Vestal Exchange Shopping Center, located at 2540 Vestal Parkway E.
In February, Brixmor Property Group spokesperson Maria Pace confirmed Wingstop would be opening on the Vestal Parkway, though a timeline was not announced.
On Aug. 3, Brixmor Property Group spokesperson Kristen Moore confirmed the restaurant would take over 1,700 square feet of the Vestal Exchange Center.
Moore said the group anticipates Wingstop opening in early 2027, though they defer to their tenants to announce opening dates.
As of Aug. 3, Wingstop has not responded to a request for comment.
Winederlust Wine Bar
Winederlust Wine Bar is set to open in downtown Binghamton sometime in summer 2026.
Located at 7 Court St., Winederlust will be situated on the waterfront of the Chenango River, and will feature a diverse selection of wine, beer and non-alcoholic drink options, along with tapas and charcuterie-style bites.
In September 2025, owner Amanda O’Neil said the goal will be to provide an accessible wine experience for all, with an eclectic, lounge vibe.
An exact opening date has not been announced.
