Former All-Pro safety Eric Weddle, who played under John Harbaugh with the Baltimore Ravens from 2016 to 2018, recently shared high praise for the New York Giants head coach on the Ross Tucker Podcast.
Weddle was asked to identify Harbaugh’s best quality as a leader.
“Harbs is one of the best coaches,” Weddle said. “His greatest attribute… he was always honest. He was very direct. He always had a plan and a vision. I was with him for three years, and he learned to rely on the leaders and the guys that he trusted on the team.
“He met with us weekly; he wanted to check in — how we were doing, what the status of the team was, like, was there anything going on. I think one of the greatest attributes for a coach — and you have to earn this — is a coach that listens to his team.”
Weddle’s comments highlight the open communication and trust that defined Harbaugh’s Ravens tenure, qualities that will follow him to East Rutherford, as Ravens running back Derrick Henry recently noted.
