The New York Giants find themselves in a highly anticipated position battle for the starting kicker role ahead of the 2026 season.
Undrafted free agent Dominic Zvada is currently competing with second-year kicker Ben Sauls for the job. Both have shown impressive power throughout training camp, but Zvada appears to hold the upper hand over Sauls heading into Week 1 of the preseason this weekend.
After being lobbied by offensive players, head coach John Harbaugh relented on Wednesday and allowed Zvada to attempt a “game-winning” 62-yard field goal.
Zvada easily connected on the 62-yard boot to end practice as the rookie continues to impress with the offseason winding down. He was a key contributor during his time at Michigan last season and has picked up right where he left off at the collegiate level.
The former Wolverine converted 82.8 percent of his field-goal attempts over four seasons in college. Zvada has the potential to emerge as the Giants’ starting kicker for years to come and delivered a strong message with his performance at practice on Wednesday.
