Cornwall graduate Charles Cypress earned a pair of all-SUNY Athletic Conference all-star awards with top-three finishes at the league’s track and field championships held at SUNY Brockport.
Cypress, a senior at SUNY Plattsburgh, placed second in the 200 meters (22.03 seconds) and third in the 60-meter dash (6.97) — top three finishers at the meet earned first-, second- or third-team picks.
Newburgh Free Academy grad Natalia Sweat, a sophomore, at SUNY Oneonta, was named third team with her third-place finish in the 800 meters (2 minutes, 17.44 seconds). In 2025, she was a three-time SUNYAC indoor star as champion at 1-mile and distance medley relay and third-place finish at 800; she was second-team outdoors in the 800.
Webutuck grad Amanda Intrieri, a sophomore at SUNY Delhi, produced a championship in the 800 meters (2:12.65), thus earning first-team honors.
A regional championship meet will be hosted in New York next weekend, which should finalize selections to the NCAA Division III championships to be held in Birmingham, Alabama.
