After beginning their 2025 campaign by handing No. 6 Arkansas their first regular season loss since 2021 in a massive 3-2 upset victory on August 14 from Fayetteville, Arkansas, No. 7-ranked Iowa women’s soccer (1-0-0) opens its home slate Thursday vs. No. 16 TCU (2-0-0).
TCU has opened its season with two wins by outscoring opponents 7-1, including a 1-0 shutout of UTSA in the program’s latest match. Last season, TCU went 17-4-2, earning the No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament that saw them claim an opening round victory against Stephen F. Austin, before falling to Penn State, 1-0, in the Round of 32.
With Iowa looking to continue its dominant play from last season, which saw the Hawkeyes finish with a 15-3-4 record and a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA Tournament, they will have their hands full against an equally promising Horned Frogs squad.
