Police identify man who drowned in Urbandale lake

Urbandale police identified the man who was found dead in a neighborhood lake on July 24.

Urbandale police responded to a call of an unresponsive person found in Lake Halice, a private lake that borders 86th Street and the Halice Lake Neighborhood.

The man in the river, who was found deceased in the water, was identified as Eric Dinges, 37, of Des Moines, by police in an update on Thursday, July 30.

The Iowa Medical Examiner’s Office determined Dinges’ cause of death to be drowning, according to the update. There is no evidence of foul play.
