After a long offseason, the NFL returned last week with the Hall of Fame game. This week is when things really kick into high gear as every team starts their preseason slate.
With that, plenty of former Iowa football stars will make their 2026 NFL debut over the next few days. The Hawkeyes put tons of guys from last year’s roster into the league, and fans will get their first chance to check out how they do this week.
Here’s a look at when every Iowa rookie will play in Week 1 of the NFL preseason:
OL Gennings Dunker, WR Kaden Wetjen, Pittsburgh Steelers
Preseason Week 1 matchup: Thursday, Aug. 13 vs the Green Bay Packers at 6 p.m. CT. Fans can also watch this game on the NFL Network.
LB Karson Sharar, Arizona Cardinals
Preseason Week 1 matchup: Thursday, Aug. 13 at the Las Vegas Raiders at 7 p.m. CT. Fans can check out this game on ESPN Unlimited and NFL+.
K Drew Stevens, Washington Commanders
Preseason Week 1 matchup: Friday, August 14 vs. the Miami Dolphins at 6 p.m. CT. Fans can watch this game on NFL+.
DL Max Llewellyn, Miami Dolphins
Preseason Week 1 matchup: Friday, Aug. 14 at the Washington Commanders at 6 p.m. CT. Fans can watch this game on NFL+.
C Logan Jones, TE Hayden Large, Chicago Bears
Preseason Week 1 matchup: Saturday, Aug. 15 vs. the Cleveland Browns at noon CT. Fans can check out the game on the NFL Network.
DB TJ Hall, New Orleans Saints
Preseason Week 1 matchup: Saturday, Aug. 15 vs the Jacksonville Jaguars at 3 p.m. CT. This game can also be seen on ESPN Unlimited and NFL+.
DL Ethan Hurkett and DB Xavier Nwankpa, Kansas City Chiefs
Preseason Week 1 matchup: Saturday, Aug. 15 vs the Los Angeles Rams at 3 p.m. CT. This game will be available on the NFL Network.
DL Aaron Graves, Baltimore Ravens
Preseason Week 1 matchup: Saturday, Aug. 15 vs the Philadelphia Eagles at 6 p.m. CT. This game will be available on ESPN Unlimited and NFL+.
OL Beau Stephens, Seattle Seahawks
Preseason Week 1 matchup: Saturday, Aug. 15 vs the Dallas Cowboys at 7 p.m. CT. This game will also be available on the NFL Network.
