A Missouri woman died after an ATV crash at an off-road motor park near Oskaloosa.
Emily Turner, 26, of Jamesport, Missouri, died from injuries sustained in a single-vehicle crash at Bluff Creek Off-Highway Vehicle Park, southwest of Oskaloosa, while operating a four-wheel ATV the evening of Saturday, Aug. 8, according to a news release from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
Turner lost control of the ATV and was thrown from the vehicle, the release said. First responders from Eddyville, the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Office, and the Iowa DNR responded to the scene, where life-saving measures were taken.
Turner was transported to Mahaska Health in Oskaloosa, where she was later pronounced dead, according to the release.
The incident remains under investigation.
