DYERSVILLE ― Some of the most iconic parts of the 1989 movie “Field of Dreams” are when the 1919 Chicago White Sox players come strolling in and out of Ray Kinsella’s corn field.
Some real-life baseball legends gathered at the Dubuque County baseball landmark on Aug. 13 leading up to the Major League Baseball game between the Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies.
Some of baseball’s greatest players popped out of the corn field as part of the pregame festivities at the Field of Dreams Movie Site.
MLB announced earlier in the week that more than 25 members of the Baseball Hall of Fame would gather for a special ceremony broadcast live on Netflix. The names were the participants were kept a secret until Thursday night.
MLB said the gathering was the largest group of Hall of Famers at a game since the 2008 All-Star Game at Yankee Stadium, when 49 legends made an appearance.
