We’re officially down to 16 teams in each class in Iowa high school football.
Classes 5A, 4A and 3A wrapped up the regular season on Friday, with some teams securing playoff bids and others wrapping up home-field advantage. Classes 2A, 1A, A and 8-player began their playoff journeys, slimming from a 32-team field in each class to just 16.
On Oct. 25, the IHSAA released playoff matchups for the round of 16. Teams are placed into pods of four, with the winner of each pod advancing to the UNI-Dome for the semifinals and finals. Here’s a look at those pods as we enter win-or-go-home season in Iowa.
