Would you try a meatball-flavored lollipop? They're coming to Indiana

What started as an April Fools joke has become a reality. A meatball-flavored lollipop will be available this summer at hundreds of IKEA stores worldwide, including Indiana.

The furniture retail outlet announced last week it had joined forces with Chupa Chups to create a Swedish meatball-inspired candy blended with tangy lingonberries. The collaboration resulted after what IKEA called an “enthusiastic response” to its initial prank on April 1.

“It is a fun way to celebrate our love of food, and to show that even a simple joke can turn into something real, bringing people together in surprising ways,” said Javier Quiñones, commercial manager for Ingka Group, in a statement.

In total, the company said, one million lollipops will be produced and distributed to IKEA stores around the world. And while they might have “meat” in the name, the lollipops will be vegan.

When will meatball-flavored lollipops be available?

While an exact date has yet to be announced, you can find these unique lollipops hitting IKEA stores in June 2026.

Are meat-flavored lollipops coming to Indiana?

Yes. IndyStar confirmed the IKEA in Fishers, 11400 IKEA Way, will have Swedish meatball-flavored lollipops this summer. The exact quantity and release date aren’t known as of yet.

How much will they cost?

They’re free, actually. According to IKEA, the lollipops won’t be for sale but will be passed out to curious shoppers this June.
