Wapahani boys basketball player Caleb Lewis has been voted The Star Press East Central Indiana high school Athlete of the Week, brought to you by IU Health.
Lewis elevated Wapahani to a 58-48 win over Shenandoah on Friday, Feb. 27, with his 12-point, nine-rebound performance on senior night.
Lewis received 37,058 out of 65,456 votes (56.62%). This week’s runner-up was Yorktown diver Ty Filkovski, who garnered 26,093 votes (39.86%).
Students in all varsity sports are eligible to be nominated and can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport. Athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks.
