MOUNT VERNON, Ind. — Posey County officials are updating the county’s unified development ordinance to address data centers.
Draft amendments to the UDO are currently in front of the Posey County Area Plan Commission, the first local board tasked with outlining what residents do and don’t want to see if a data center comes knocking. Meetings on the amendments have been packed, with the Hovey House at capacity and locals spilling into the parking lot or opting to stay home and watch online.
APC members are still in the middle of updating and editing the amendments, but the next step will be to hold a public hearing on the final draft. If the ordinance is approved at that time, it will then go to the Posey County Board of Commissioners for approval, as well as the Towns of Cynthiana and Poseyville and the City of Mount Vernon.
Here are the members of those boards, and how to reach them.
