Indiana women's basketball loses first-year forward to season-ending injury

BLOOMINGTON — Indiana women’s basketball freshman forward Zoe Jackson will miss the entire 2026-27 season after suffering a knee injury in practice over the summer.

The Hoosiers put out a statement on Tuesday outlining the timeline for Jackson’s injury and rehab.

“Indiana first year forward Zoe Jackson sustained a knee injury during a practice in late July that will sideline her for the 2026-27 season,” the statement said. “Jackson will undergo surgery in the coming weeks and will rehabilitate her injury with Indiana’s team physicians, athletic trainers and strength staff. The program will look forward to her return for the 2027-28 season.

Jackson, an international recruit out of Australia, has been on campus since January 2026 as an early enrollee. She helped Arndell Anglican College win five regional titles from 2021-25 and competed for her home country’s national team.

“Zoe is a skilled and physical post player who brings great size and presence to the paint,” Indiana coach Teri Moren said of Jackson on signing day. “She has strong hands, finishes well around the rim and plays with a steady, composed demeanor. Her international experience and work ethic will make her a great fit in our frontcourt.”
